OUR MINISTER is the Rev John Lines MBE who joined us in September 2000. A former Metropolitan police motorcyclist, John entered the Ministry in 1985, training at Queen's College, Birmingham, and then served in Thames Valley for four years, and the Whitechapel Mission from 1991 to 1996. It was for his work there that he was awarded the MBE. He and his wife Christine were at Uxbridge before moving to Dover.

They have both been keen workers in the Boys' Brigade, and John is national vice-President.

He is also very interested in old vehicles (he has owned a number of motorcycles and buses!) and John rode an old police motorcycle in the Queen Mother's 100th birthday pageant in London in the summer of 2000.
