Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Other Groups

The main SUNDAY SERVICE is at 11 a.m., and the JUNIOR CHURCH - which caters for youngsters from 3 to 15 - meets at 10.50am. The youngsters share in the first part of the morning service before going into the church hall and other rooms for their own sessions. There are separate departments for the different age groups, and we also provide a CRECHE during the Sunday morning service. And, of course, we have a CRADLE ROLL to which the names of babies and children who are baptized at our church are added.

The morning service on the first Sunday of each month is a Family Service in which people of all ages take part, including our Junior Church, Girls' Brigade and Music Group.

We have an evening service of Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m.

The Church has its own MINI-BUS which - thanks to a rota of volunteer drivers - helps bring some of our elderly members to the Sunday morning services, Monday afternoon women's meeting, and other special events.

Our church is beautifully decorated with FLOWERS each Sunday, given by members often to mark special occasions or anniversaries, and after the Sunday services the flowers are sent out to those who are ill or housebound with a message from the church.

WOMEN’S OWN meets on Mondays at 3 p.m. with a range of speakers and activities.

The 7th Dover Scout Group is attached to our church, and the CUBS meet on Mondays from 6 p.m.

We have our own drama group who perform various productions. Called MAD (Methodist Amateur Dramatics), they rehearse from Mondays at 7.30 p.m.

GUILD meets on Tuesdays at 7.30 p.m., with a number of committees arranging the weekly meetings on a variety of themes, from Christian Service to Social, Musical to Devotional.

The MOTHER AND TODDLER GROUP meets on Wednesdays at 1.45 p.m.

Christians in Dover run a SOUP KITCHEN for the homeless, with each church providing volunteers to provide the soup and sandwiches on different evenings. It's our turn on Wednesdays, and we have a rota of people who prepare the food and others who take it down to the soup kitchen to serve it to those who find themselves without food or shelter. The Port of Dover - the busiest passenger port in the world - is used by more than 20 million a year, and some of them arrive here with no means of support and nowhere to go. The YMCA is currently renovating an old building in the town to provide accommodation and support, particularly for young people who may be passing through the town.

Our GIRLS’ BRIGADE - the 3rd Dover Company - meets on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m., with sessions for the Explorers (aged 5 to 8 years), Juniors (8 to 11), Seniors and Brigaders (11 to 14 plus).

We don't just aim to be spiritually fit, we like to keep physically fit, too, and the LADIES KEEP FIT GROUP meets on Thursdays at 7.15 p.m.

Our church has a fine musical tradition, and in the past, as well as a Church Choir, we have had a Ladies' Choir, Men's Choir, Children's Choir and Girls' Choir. Only the CHURCH CHOIR now remains, making musical contributions to our worship, and they rehearse on Fridays at 7.30 p.m.

We also have a MUSIC GROUP whose members sometimes accompany our Sunday morning worship with descant and treble recorders, flutes, clarinets, euphonium and keyboards. They also play for Christian events in Dover, such as the Good Friday procession through the town and the Port Sunday service.

We also have a BANNER-MAKING group which meets occasionally.

Some of our youngsters collect for the Methodist Church's mission work through JMA, we regularly support NCH Action for Children, Methodist Homes for the Aged and Christian Aid.

News of all our church activities is included in "THE MESSENGER", the monthly church newsletter which is not only distributed to people at our London Road, Tower Hamlets and Shepherdswell churches, but is also sent by post - and e-mail - to other members and friends who are now away from Dover.
